People at FORCE
Meet the team
Kara Brugman
Associate Research Scientist
Eyring Materials Center
Kara Brugman is interested in magma genesis and volatile solubility on exoplanets, Earth, & solar system bodies and timescales of events in magmatic systems. She is a Research Scientist and Outreach Coordinator for FORCE.
Damanveer Grewal
Assistant Professor
School of Molecular Sciences
Daman is an experimental and analytical geo-/cosmochemist who studies the formation and evolution of rocky bodies in the early solar system using high-pressure temperature experiments, isotope geochemistry, and meteorites.

Thomas Sharp
Professor
School Of Earth and Space Exploration
Sharp teaches mineralogy, field geology, and electron microscopy. His research interests include impacts and shock metamorphism in meteorites, high-pressure minerals and phase transformations in Earth’s mantle.
S.-H. Dan Shim
Professor
School Of Earth and Space Exploration
Dan Shim’s research interests are centered on the physical and chemical properties of materials at high pressures and temperature, and the structure and evolution of Earth and planetary interiors.
David Smith
Regents’ Professor
Department of Physics
Smith specializes in the development, applications, and advancement of atomic-resolution electron microscopy.
